BLOG: Be Holy

By Rev. Keith Davis

Jesus Christ’s Eighth New Beatitude is Be Holy.

Blessed are you to Be Holy.

Your holiness is the innocence and unconditional love that you are.  It is who you are as the Father originally created you, or the divine you and higher Self that is God as you. It is who you are minus the illusions of this world, that are not the eternal you.

The Father does not judge us, so we remain holy and innocent. Praise the Lord!  This is great news as I have experienced many things that I am not proud of but have learned much from. I am so grateful that God says there is nothing to forgive because He holds no judgment. What a kind and loving Father we have!  Thank you, God!

I know that that there is nothing my holiness cannot do, because it is the power of God within me. This is the power of life and creation and it is who I Am as the beloved.

This news soothes my soul and heals my heart, as I no longer feel sinful and guilty. The peace and joy my holiness gives me is out of this world, gratefully! I am worthy and already deserving, being God’s child and extension of Him.

These New Beatitudes are true for us all as we realize our holiness and be it now. I celebrate every day of life Being Holy now, and thank you Jesus for holy clarity now. So be it.

  1. I had the privilege of being invited to see the musical Amazing Grace tonight. It is based on the true story of a man who was a slave trader who had a shift of consciousness, took the natives back to Africa and wrote the beautiful hymn so many of us know as a favorite. By the end of the play as the music swelled, the whole audience joined in singing the beautiful sacred words. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
I have a similar reaction to the Hallelujah Chorus of Handel’s Messiah at Christmas concerts.
It is visceral in me. Something real and holy WITHIN me …responds to the emotional moving pure tones of Spirit. I don’t know how else to say it, but there is an inner resonance that for me is beyond denying.
I may not be able to always see myself as a Holy Person, or as a person who acts in a Holy Manner, but I can always seem to relate to an innate Holiness when these tears fall unbidden out of some deep inner knowing that I am “like” that essence which is Holy, and when Holy sounds cross the threshold of my heart/mind/soul/ears.
It is intuitive. I can’t prove it, but I feel it, I know it, I believe it, I honor it.
